Summer activities

Visit the Valley also on summer days

Mirador del valle

Discover Mirador del Valle, a free activity through a short hike to the hill near the Valle Nevado Hotel. Enjoy unique views of the Andes mountain range, a replica of the Indian’s pirca, possible sightings of condors, and learn about the flora, fauna, and the Apu Wamani. End your day at La Fourchette Terrace with exquisite gourmet sandwiches and refreshing drinks in the mountains. Remember to wear appropriate mountain shoes, warm clothing, and sunscreen.

Child of el plomo replica

At the Mirador del Valle, you will find a pirca that imitates the structures used by the Incas for their constructions and sacrifices. From there, you can appreciate Cerro El Plomo, the place where the Mummy of the Child of El Plomo was found at more than 5,400 meters above sea level. You will have the opportunity to delight in the different colors of the Andes Mountain Range and, with luck, glimpse the majestic flight of the condors. A “pirca” is a low-height rustic wall made with superimposed stones, typical of Andean cultures. The Inca Empire extended the use of pircas, although the technique has even more ancient origins.
