Valle Nevado: The Pro Skier & Snowboarder's Summer Camp.
One of the most exciting elements about visiting Valle Nevado is that the resort acts much like a "summer camp" for the world's best skiers and snowboarders, including medal-winning Olympic teams from countries such as Austria, USA, Norway, Italy, Russia, among many others, as well as Paralympic teams from many of these countries. And it's not just Olympic teams, it is the big mountain ski and snowboard pros who come to photograph and film videos descending monster lines in the Andean backcountry, or just to keep in shape for the North American winter. In 2017, Valle Nevado hosted a handful of the best skiers in the world, including France's ski phenom Candide Thovex; Austrian Olympic gold medal winner Matthias Mayer and 7-time World Cup winner Hannes Reichelt; Norwegian Ksel Lund Svindal (5-time Super World Champion and two-time Downhill World Champion), Kjetil Jansrud (#1 in Super G and #2 in Downhill), Aleksander Aamodt Kilde (#3 in Super G); the Italians Peter Fill (#1 in Downhill), Dominik Paris (#3 in Downhill), and Sofía Goggia (#2 in Downhill); the Swiss Lara Gut (#3 in Downhill); big-mountain pro skiers Lynsey Dyer, Marcus Caston, and Sage Cattabriga-Alosa; and world-class skier/mountaineer/photographer Jimmy Chin.
